Look what we have gone and done!

Doesn't she look great! We went to the Dr. today. The doc said that everything is coming along just the way it should. During our ultrasound last week they measured the baby and determined that it's weight is probably a couple ounces ahead of what would be considered normal at this point. This has been an area of some debate between Monica and I. While I think that we may be having a large baby (I was 11lbs 1oz at birth), Monica is sticking to the theory that we are a little farther along than we were originally quoted. The doctor says that at this point the due date is going to remain July 2nd. Whichever turns out to be true there are no worries because we are prepared. The nursery is complete and will be furnished this week and we have some larger clothes in the closet if the baby does happen to be large. So, we are covered!
The baby's heart rate was 156 beats per minute, news which we know will probably cause some of you to change your vote and to offer us your expert advice as to the baby's gender. It was also a lot easier to find with the high tech microphone during this visit. Again this time we both became silent at the sound of such a quick little heartbeat. Monica says that it sounds like a symphony. I'm not sure but I think that in between beats I may have heard the baby's first words "save me some of those girl scout cookies dad!"

  1. WOW! I didn't notice on Sunday how PREGNANT you look (guess that's what happens when you're 5 months pregnant)! Quentin's right, you do look great! Now I'm going to start patting your belly to say hi to the baby! I'm not changing my gender guess just yet.

  2. I agree with Erica, you looked a lot bigger than last week. You do look good though (a hot mama).

What does the fast heart beat mean?

  3. You look so great! Again, I love the baby's room - colors, curtains etc. You two are on top of things ... lemme tell ya!!!

  4. The faster the heartrate, the more likely it is to be a girl. At least that's how the Old Wives Tale goes. Emma's heartrate was consistently in the 170's and John's was in the upper 130's to lower 140's.

    You've definitely popped!

  5. Thank you so much for all of the compliments! Keep them coming because as I get bigger I will probably want more :-) We are picking up the furniture tonight...so we will upload some more pictures soon.
No movement yet that I can detect anyways...the baby hears Mozart and Daddy several times a week through a speaker system we bought for the baby. Cheesy but very cool at the same time.
Thanks again for all the support!
