Our baby is now the length of an ear of corn! This weekend we were sitting around feeling the baby kick and noticed that we could actually see it moving. It seems to move a lot more when Monica eats taffy and when she wants to sleep. Her deprivation in turn means that we are both a little sleep deprived lately. Some people say that this is in preperation for the sleepless nights that we will surely experience once the baby comes but I'm starting to thnk that the baby just likes the sound of Jay Leno's voice at 11:00 when I'm up watching TV in the bedroom. If that's the case then Leno's move to an earlier time slot will be adventagous to our sleep schedule I'm sure.
Monica is doing very well and as you can see the bun in the oven is coming along nicely. This morning she complained about not being able to bend over to touch her toes. I'm certain that this is just the beginning of a more uncomfortable stage of the pregnancy for her.
We took a big step and bought some diapers yesterday. We thought that we could gain some ground on the demand and start stockpiling buy buying a few things every week. Next week....Dreft laundry detergent. I'm planning on painting the changing table this week. I will post some pictures here when I have it finished.
Starting to buy things a little at a time will help big time! Buying diapers and wipes at Costco saves a ton of money (they only carry Huggies and Kirkland). Just don't buy too many of the smaller sizes. John grew 3 diaper sizes in the first month (maybe 6 weeks) and has been in that size since.
ReplyDeleteWhen Emma was born, we used Dreft because they didn't have all these detergents without dyes and perfumes. With John, we just use Cheer Free and Clear with Downy Free and Clear fabric softner. So much easier on the wallet! You know what they say about second kids...you're a little more lenient!
You look great for being SIX MONTHS PREGNANT! :) The weight gain kind of slows down in the third trimester if it's any consolation.
I always read that the baby is lulled when Mom is up moving around (which is why they like rocking, the moving car, etc. so much) but the gloves come off when Mom relaxes!
