A FACE

On Friday we had a 3-D sonogram done. We have just under 7 weeks left and these pictures are supposed to be very similar to the appearance of the baby at birth. We still don't want to know if we are having a boy or a girl so we asked them to only focus on the facial features. The whole process was pretty uncomfortable for Monica but we were able to get a few pictures during the few seconds when the baby moved it's hands away from it's face. Enjoy!

We started our birthing classes last week. We will be attending 3 more two hour classes in the next three weeks so that we will be prepared for something that everyone says that we can't totally prepare for. We watched a movie, met a couple of people, and did some breathing exercises on the floor but nothing too strenuous. So far we seem to have a pretty good handle on the basics but we will see where this week takes us. We will be watching a video of an actual birth so I may wear my crash helmet just in case my knees get wobbly. It's a long way down from up here and scenes like that tend to make me queasy. Never fear, we have informed our doctor and she has promised to have an extra nurse on staff when Baby H. is born so we should all come out OK.

Erica, Sonia, Marilyn, and Stan threw us an amazing baby shower this weekend and we really got a lot of the things that we need to take care of the new addition to the family. The party was a lot of fun and it was nice to see so many of the people that will be important in our child's life all together in one place. We can't wait until we can introduce him or her to each and every one of you personally.

The doctor told us that at 34 weeks she will let the birth go forward once labor starts and that cut-off date is this Friday. So, although we would very much like to have the baby on our due date there is a possibility that we may be meeting the little one very soon so check your email frequently as I will send out updates as soon as anything happens!
